Oreo Balls
Ingredients:
-
1 package of regular oreos
-
8 oz. whipped cream cheese
-
2 cups white chocolate chips or white almond bark
-
1 tbsp. shortening
Instructions:
-
Place the cream cheese into a large mixing bowl.
-
Place the oreos in a food processor or blender and crush completely.
-
Place the crushed oreos in the bowl with the cream cheese and mix using an electric mixer until well mixed.
-
Place the mix in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours.
~Do a little dance while the time passes~
-
Melt the shortening and white chocolate chips or almond bark using a double boiler system.
-
While the chocolate is melting, take the oreo/cream cheese mixture out of the fridge and roll into 1 inch balls.
-
Once the chocolate is melted dip the oreo balls in completely and place on wax paper or aluminum foil to set. (I have found that using a spoon to drop and roll the oreo balls in the chocolate is the easiest.)
-
Let the covered oreo balls set for 1-2 hours. Once they are hardened place them in a container and put them in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
Variations:
-
Use different versions of the oreo – mint, peanut butter, vanilla cookie/chocolate frosting.
-
Use milk chocolate chips or semi-sweet chocolate chips instead of white chocolate chips.
-
Make healthier by using low fat cream cheese and low fat oreos.
